    Connected directly

    Newsrooms and eyewitnesses connect directly on the Heatmap; rights and payment are handled in the same step.

    Metadata is cryptographically bound to footage the instant it's recorded, before any editing is possible.

    Derived from microscopic imperfections unique to each camera sensor, tracing footage to its source device.

    On-chain anchoring

    Sealed metadata is anchored via decentralised storage (IPFS) - unalterable by anyone, including Veriscope.

    SIGNAL

    Signal consistency checks

    Cross-validates device time, GPS coherence, visual integrity indicators, and environmental data.

    Questions

    How the protocol holds up

    Is this the same as C2PA?

    No. C2PA is an industry standard that works through specific hardware and software partners - for example, certain camera models store metadata separately, and the chain depends on staying inside that ecosystem. Step outside it and you lose your proof of provenance. The Amanah Protocol captures metadata independently of any single hardware or software partner, sealing it at the moment of recording regardless of device.

    What data actually gets sealed?

    Timestamp and a device-specific optical fingerprint - sealed at capture and anchored on-chain, forming a chain of custody for the video that anyone can inspect later. We deliberately don't capture precise triangulated location data; for an eyewitness, that level of detail can be dangerous rather than useful.
